Local Scottish makers are integral to Lifestory's buying ethos. It is a delight to be able to stock and share so many wonderful local Scottish artists and small makers. There is an impressive amount of energy, skill, passion and thought poured into each makers' work, and you can really tell when you hold the pieces in your hand.

Are the pieces handmade?

Many are made entirely by hand, including the ceramics and jewellery, so each piece carries small natural variations and is effectively one of a kind.

Can I buy Scottish makers' work online and have it delivered?

Yes. We ship across the UK and to the USA and Northern Ireland, with every order packed by hand and a note included.

We choose each one ourselves, led by the quality of the work and a genuine connection to Scotland, which is why the collection changes and grows over time.
